FAQ
Q: When will my child be able to start wearing shoes?
It is best for children to learn to walk barefoot.
This strengthens the muscles and obliges them to exert themselves. So let them skip around as much as possible on their bare feet.
Once they can walk independently and walk around more, it's best to look forward to a sturdy shoe.
After purchasing the first shoes, it is in any case advisable to alternate barefoot steps with wearing the shoes.

Tip:
Take your child with you when you go to buy shoes. This way his/her foot can be measured.
You can also buy shoes without your child being there!
What is the best way to do this?
Place a piece of paper or cardboard on the floor against the wall and leave your child with both feet on it. Make sure your child is standing upright, with his or her heels against the wall and that both feet are standing upright. Then draw a line on the farthest toe of each foot. Measure the length from the heel (beginning of the leaf) to the furthest outstretched toe (the line). You can bring the cut out feet to the shop and with this paper print we can find the right shoe in the right size.
We will be happy to help you find the right size!

Q: How do I know that my child's shoes have become too small?
Children's shoes are too small when there is no more room to grow.
You can press the nose of the shoes to see if there is still room for growth. There must always be room available. A few millimetres are a minimum.
There are several signals:
* Sometimes children don't want to put on their shoes anymore. You really have to wrestle to put them on or they want to take them off immediately.
* Small red spots appear on the heel or toe.
* Teared or curled toenails can be an indication that the shoes are too tight.

Tip: If the shoe has a loose insole, you can take the sole out of the shoe and put the feet of your child on the soles.

Q: How fast do children's feet grow?
The feet of children between one and three years of age grow one shoe size every 3 to 4 months.
The feet of four and five year olds grow one shoe size every six months.
Children between the ages of six and seven need a larger shoe size every 8 to 10 months.
From the age of eight to ten, children keep the same shoe size for about one year.
Around the beginning of puberty (around 12-13 years) the growth process can suddenly take a spurt. Therefore, check the size of your teenagers every 3 months.

Q: What should I pay attention to when buying children's shoes?
* Make sure that the shoes fit properly.
Children's shoes fit well when your child is walking comfortably with them and there is a 1 centimetre growth space in the length.
When you buy new children's shoes, always provide extra room for growth.
Do not buy shoes 'on the growth': a shoe that is too big can be as harmful as a shoe that is too small.
Oversized shoes do not support the feet well and are bad for your child's posture.
* Always fit left and right shoes.
When fitting, take into account not only the length of a shoe, but also its width (for children with narrow/wide-feet), its height (for children with a high instep) and its height (for children with a high instep). Let the child walk around with both shoes on and watch how the shoes fit the foot.
* Natural materials such as leather are preferred.
Leather shoes are the highest quality shoes, they absorb sweat more easily and ensure that children are less likely to get sweaty feet.
Leather shoes can easily adapt to the shape of the feet. This makes it easy for the feet to retain their natural shape without any problems.
* Children's shoes should have flexible soles.
Sizes 18 to 23 should be very flexible to support the development of children's feet.
Sizes 24 to 27 also need to be quite flexible, but do not need to be extremely flexible.
Shoes from size 28 still need to be flexible, but may be a lot less flexible than the previous size groups.
* Provide at least two pairs of shoes so that the child can change shoes every day.
* Do not pass on older children's shoes to small children.

Q: How can I best maintain my new shoes?
It is very important that you impregnate your new shoes before you start wearing them.
By injecting the shoes with an impregnation spray ("Collonil: Carbon pro spray"), you make them water- and dirt-repellent, protecting them from influences such as rain, snow, puddles, etc.
If the shoes are worn a lot, it is best to repeat this regularly (e.g. after 10 to 12 wearings). Especially in winter it is important to keep your shoes water- and dirt-repellent.

Useful tips!
Always make sure the shoes are dry and clean before spraying with an impregnation spray. Otherwise, it may cause stains or differences in colour.
To prevent the leather from drying out and shrinking, never put your shoes under the heating system.

Q: How do I maintain smooth leather shoes?
Leather is a natural product that breathes, is comfortable and strong. Moreover, it lasts a lot longer than shoes in other materials.
Leather also requires good care in order to retain all these properties.
Leather can dry out and become stiffer over time. Therefore, you should regularly polish your shoes. When your shoes are completely clean and dry, you can lubricate them with the right colour of shoe polish. Here you can choose a shoe polish in the same colour as the colour of the shoes or in a neutral colour.
The shoe polish will nourish the shoes so that they no longer dry out and remain supple.
Allow the shoe polish to soak in for fifteen minutes and then shine the shoes with a dry cloth.
Then spray the shoes with a water and dirt-repellent impregnation spray.

Attention!
Smooth leather shoes in still wet condition should not be cleaned. The shoe cream mixes with the water and dries more slowly.

Q: How do I care for my patent leather shoes?
In principle, patent leather shoes do not require impregnation. The leather has a closed lacquer layer so that moisture cannot penetrate into it.
Patent leather shoes have a nice shine. But after you've worn them for a while, it's possible that the shine decreases a bit and streaks or cracks start to appear.
To avoid cracks and gloss reduction, first thoroughly polish your shoes with soapy water and a sponge. Then you can apply vegetable oil or the Collonil "Lack mousse for patent leather shoes" to your shoes.
The Collonil "Lack mousse for patent leather shoes" protects, cares for and cleans smooth lacquer leather and fashionable crease varnish.
In this way, your patent leather shoes will retain their high glamour!

Q: How do I take care of suede and nubuck shoes?
Suede and nubuck are beautiful materials, provided you maintain it well!
However, not everyone is keen on the combination of "children's shoe and suede/nubuck", but these materials have a very positive characteristic: you don't see scratches on them as easily as on smooth leather!

Both suede and nubuck are types of leather in which the skin of an animal has been 'tanned'.
Suede is the inner side of the leather and has a hairy appearance. Suede is softer than ordinary leather, but it is sensitive to water and dirt.
Nubuck is also a ruwler leather but here, in contrast to suede, the top of the skin is lightly sanded, giving it a finer, velvety look. Nubuck is also thicker, but finer in fibre than suede.

If there are no real stains on the shoes and you just want to give them a service, then proceed as follows:
Suede or nubuck have soft hairs that are best cleaned with a brush. Use the suede brush to wipe away dust and dirt on your shoes. Do not move the brush back and forth: always brush in the same direction. Once you've brushed off this layer of dirt, your shoes look a little new anyway.
Once the shoes have been treated, you can inject them with a water and dirt-repellent impregnation spray to further protect them. Impregnate the suede shoes regularly to keep them beautiful.

If there are any stains on the shoes, proceed as follows:
Wear spots that are no longer brushed out can sometimes be repaired with a eraser. There are also special suede/nubuck gummes (Collonil) for this job. Start with moderate pressure on the eraser and increase if the scuffs do not come out.
Once the shoes have been treated, you can inject them with a water and dirt-repellent impregnation spray to further protect them. Impregnate the suede shoes regularly to keep them beautiful.
Don't use shoe polish because it will harden the suede fabric and you can make stains!

Tip:
Did the kids play in the mud with their suede or nubuck shoes?
Just let the mud dry out. Remove excess mud without sweeping too hard over the suede. Leave to dry. Once it is dry, you can break down the large pieces. Use a suede brush to brush off the remaining pieces.

Q: How do I care for my shoes in grease leather?
Greased leather, just like smooth leather, is made from the outside of the animal skin. This type of leather feels smooth and a bit greasy to the touch and usually looks dull. Dressed leather is easy to recognise when you push the leather from the inside out of the shoe with your finger - you see the leather lightening in colour instantly and often you can wipe away slight scratches.
Greased leather is beautiful, but has the characteristic that it discolours as it is worn more often.
Scratches are also more common with greased leather than with other types of leather, but no worries, it is easy to treat.
Grease your shoes several times a year with a colourless cream. This ensures that the leather retains its deep color shine.
Also spray the leather once a month against dirt and moisture. This is best done with the "Collinil: Rustical for oily leather".

Useful tips:
Never use ordinary impregnation sprays or shoe cream. These can damage the grease-leather character of the shoes.
Applying leather grease too often or too thickly is not good. As a result, the leather becomes too supple and loses its shape stability.

Q: How do I care for metallic shoes?
Metallic leather is special leather, because a special coating has been applied over the normal top layer. This gives the leather its shiny effect. This layer will not wear out quickly, but is sensitive to scratches.
When your metallic shoes are dirty, it's usually easy to remove, because the dirt can't pull into the leather because of the coating. To make sure that your metallic shoes don't get dirty anyway and to keep them shiny, a special spray has been developed by Collonil: Metallic spray for metallic leather.
If you inject your shoes regularly with this spray, your shoes will keep their shine. You don't have to rub the shoes afterwards, but this is allowed if you want them to shine extra!

Q: How do I care for my ponyhair shoes?
Ponyhair is an exciting alternative to 'ordinary' leather.
These hairy shoes are not really made of ponyhair. The material, like other leather products, comes from the cow. The reason it's called ponyhair anyway, because it's just as cuddly as ponyhair.
The material seems to be very difficult to take care of, but that's very easy. It's actually very easy! These shoes are easy to clean with a dry cloth. If necessary, you can use a slightly damp cloth, but then dry the shoes immediately afterwards with a dry cloth.
Furthermore, you have to inject against the hairs in your shoes. So every hair is packed and you can enjoy your shoes for longer.
Regularly impregnate your shoes to keep them beautiful and 'new', you can do this with a special spray for ponyhair "Collonil: Vario spray for hairy shoes" or with the "Collonil: Carbon pro spray".

If this does occur, we will contact you so that you can - if you wish - revise the order. You will of course be refunded immediately for the respective items.

'Anna Pops' tries to depict the articles as faithfully as possible. Keep in mind, however, that factors such as a computer screen, ambient light, etc., especially in the colour, may show small deviations from reality.

Article 7: Right of withdrawal / return
The provisions of this article only apply to Customers who purchase items online from Anna Pops in their capacity as consumers.

The Customer is entitled to withdraw from the agreement without giving any reason within a period of 14 calendar days. He is free to provide additional information to us in order to improve our services.
